Traveling Artist In Residence

Marie French is the owner and travel concierge for Soleil Travels and is a seasoned traveler traveling to over 25 countries around the world for pleasure and for work. She is wonder-struck each time she embarks on a new destination and with eyes opened she is inspired, challenged at times, and reminded of why she travels in the first place. To see and immerse herself in the world so that each destination is like a private hero's journey to see the world and herself with new eyes. She longs to share the beauty of seeing differently while traveling, savoring the moments, and digging deep into a location. Marie French Is A Prolific Artist, Designer, And Author Whose Career Spans Four Decades. Her Artistic Production Includes Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Fabric Design, Clothing Design, And Public Art. Her Public Art Installations Are Located At The ALS Headquarters In St Louis, East End Hospice In NY, And Sienna Spirituality Center In Bridgehampton, NY. Shows Have Been Held At The Cummer Gallery In Jacksonville, Florida; SIenna Spirituality Center; East End Arts Council Gallery, The Montauk Gallery; Crazy Monkey Gallery In Amagansett; Parrish Art Museum; Tere Mondo In Colorado; Michael Lamb Interiors; The Paisano Gallery In Marfa, TX, Kiowa Gallery In Alpine, TX And Commercial Installations At The Panoramic View Resort In Montauk, NY

Marie is now located in Southern Pines, North Carolina, where she is actively planning personalized travel for others and herself, as well as, creating with paint and clay and jotting her ideas for future creative opportunities.

I Use The Lost Wax Casting Method: Making A Lot Of My Talismans, Charms, Rings, And Cuffs So That I Can Write Secret Messages, And Share Uplifting Thoughts. Each Cast Piece Is Cast In Silver Or Gold. The Other Jewelry Pieces Are Hand Stamped Using Age Old Stamps From Antique Collections Of Native American Stamps. A Symbol, Picture Or Pattern Of Love And Healing Is Stamped On Each Piece.

Working With Clay Is A Healing Process, Getting Your Hands Dirty And Letting The Clay And Water Flow Into A Vision. I Work With Raku, And Glazed Dinnerware Made With Fragments Of Lace, Botanicals, And Other Treasures From Nature To Build Hand Formed Vases, Cups, Bowls Tea Pots, Clay Pot Feet, And Sculptures
